Wild Baby Bunny Enjoys a Flower
Who doesn’t just love tiny bunnies. They are so sweet and so cute you just want to hug them and hold them.
Unfortunately a lot of rabbits end up in animal shelters because they are bought on impulse around Easter time and are not wanted when the purchaser realizes take a lot of care and expense just like any other pet. I blame the buyers of these poor rabbits but I actually place more blame on the breeders of the animals and the stores that carry them. Too often these stores sell the rabbit as if it were another Easter accessory like chocolate eggs or peeps. Baby chicks and ducklings seem to fall prey to the same kind of merchandising. The retailers must learn that living animals are not simple merchandise and stop the practice of selling them onto buyers who will end up taking them to an animal rescue.
But putting those things aside for the moment, we still all have to say we have been at least tempted to purchase a cuddly little rabbit. They are just too darn cute for their own good.
The little rabbit in the video below is no exception. He has an abundance of cute. He also has a passion for eating flowers. Watch the video as he eats the flower then cleans himself after his meal. But remember to curb your sugar intake for the rest of the day. This little guy will quickly put you over your daily allotment of sweets.
Oh, I forgot to mention that this is a wild rabbit that was rescued.
I just love how he has pollen on his lips as he eats the flower. He looks good in yellow though, doesn’t he?
Cute Animal Videos

Today is another windy day when I have to post between electrical power surges. Gee…I hope this wind goes away soon so things get back to normal and I don’t have to worry about losing all my electronic equipment.
Today, in order to take advantage of sunset when the winds die down for about an hour, I am going to put up two of the cutest animal videos I have ever seen.
The first one is of a rabbit eating a banana and obviously enjoying the sweet treat.
When I move I might just think about getting a pet rabbit because rabbits are just about the cutest little animals and to my understanding they would get along quite well in the new home I am planning. I’ll have to let you all in on the new pets we adopt after the move. It will be an exciting time. Maybe I will even upload a few videos of the pets.
This next one is of an elk, yes, I said elk who is having a great time in her wild environment. She has found a puddle and makes the most of her discovery.
Isn’t the elk just the cutest thing. She is so very care free and delighted just to play in a little bit of water. I have seen young horses and even a few older ones do this in small puddles. But I must admit, I never thought of an elk playing in a puddle.
Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be back to normal breezes again and I hope I can bring you a post I have been working on for awhile now as long as there is time. We shall see.
Enjoy the cute animal videos and be careful not to get a sugar overdose from them.

Easter Is No Fun For Pet Rabbits
Did you know that rabbits are the third most abandoned animal at pet shelters? Why do you think that is the case?
At least part of the answer is a lot of people buy a bunny at Easter to give to the kids as a pet. But most of those people don’t know what it entails to take care of rabbits. So the result is the hapless bunnies end up at a shelter waiting for rescue.
From Care2;
“Sadly, rabbits are now the third most abandoned animal at shelters, and countless others are released to fend for themselves, but often become an unfortunate addition to a predator’s lunch,” said Debby Widolf of the national animal welfare organization, Best Friends Animal Society. She adds, “If you decide that a rabbit would be a welcome addition to your family, why not rescue a homeless bunny by adopting from a rabbit rescue or shelter?” asks Widolf. “But before adopting, it’s important to first learn all about these wonderful creatures and what they need to become a happy, well-adjusted family member. Most important, don’t make an impulse buy from a pet store or online.”
Pets of any species should not be impulse buys. Rabbits have things that need to be prepared for them if they are to make a good pet and before getting a rabbit you need to know what the animal needs to be happy.
Dogs, Cats and rabbits are not throw away animals. When you take on the responsibility of a pet, you owe it to the animal and the family it will be living with to do your homework and prepare for the pet to move in.
On the home page of Fluffy Feet you will find links under Friends to the right of the site for Make Mine Chocolate and The House Rabbit Society. Before you purchase a rabbit this Easter, please check out these two sites. They will be very helpful in teaching you how to take care of your new pet.
Better yet, If you are serious about getting a rabbit for a pet, rescue one from a shelter. The people where you get your rabbit should be able to instruct you as to care and you will be saving a life.
Perhaps the best thing you can do is buy a chocolate or a marshmallow bunny for Easter and decide about a pet rabbit after you have given the idea the thought and consideration it deserves.
If you want to get a rabbit for a child, try a stuffed one. Real bunnies don’t really like to be carried around and hugged, but a stuffed rabbit will love it.

Lipton Stops Animal Testing
What do you think of giving an animal – any animal – a disease or making them sick in any way to test your products health benefits? Seems like a silly pursuit doesn’t it, especially when your product doesn’t help and the animals are all euthanized?
PETA absolutely doesn’t like this idea and I have to agree with them on this. It is a senseless waste plus it is cruelty and abuse of innocent animals.
When PETA learned of the practices at Lipton Tea, they went into action to halt the cruelty and they succeeded.
From Care 2 Green Living;
PETA announced recently that their campaign focused on Unilever, the maker of Lipton Teas, has caused them to cease testing on animals. PETA said Unilever was doing lab tests on piglets, rabbits, rats and mice for various research studies.
An official statement from Unilever said, “Given the leadership role our tea category takes in the area of environmental sustainability and the ethical sourcing of tea, Unilever is committing to no animal testing for our tea and tea-based beverages, with immediate effect.” (Source: Google News)
‘You can read the rest of this article at Care 2 Green Living.
Thanks to Unilever for stopping the animal testing at Lipton Tea. You did the right thing.
There is also a link in the article at Care 2 to a list of companies who do not do testing on animals. I have kept a copy of that list in my computer so I can refer to it and buy from companies without animal testing. I don’t want to help pay for that type of thing with my hard earned money.
Cute Animals Video
You all know I am a sucker for cute animals and even quite a few who aren’t really so cute. Since there is so much bad in the world, it does all of us good to just look away from it for awhile and gaze instead on something that makes us smile.
Now, I ask you what can make you smile more that a whole collection of amazingly cute animal pictures. Puppies, kittens, cats and dogs as well as a few rabbits and others thrown in for good measure.
That is a sure recipe for ear to ear grins and since I believe we can all use a smile, I am posting the following video for your grinning enjoyment. Have fun and don’t forget to hug your pets! Then give them a little treat just for good measure. You know they deserve it.
