Imagine how surprised this police officer was when he answered a call to remove debris from a busy intersection and found the debris was actually an injured kitten. This officer was prompt and correct in his actions. Due to him the kitten is now thriving.
So many times in our busy lives, we would be irritated at the delay caused by the police officer at a busy intersection. I am sure the people forced to wait were just as irritated as you or I would be. But instead of giving the officer grief, they applauded his actions as he drove past with the kitten safely on board.
It is all too true that people actually do dump unwanted animals at intersections. I have seen it happen myself and in my mind it is abuse in the extreme. A young animal does not have a really good chance of finding rescue before being hit by a car and killed or at least badly injured. So the human who dumps them is committing animal cruelty.
However, this time the story is upbeat. The kitten was rescued and the officer now has a pal for life. I would bet the cat will take really good care of the officer whose training is by now well underway.
From MYNDYTV;
Trooper Hutchinson was able to stop and position his patrol vehicle in the intersection to shelter the kitten from oncoming traffic, ultimately snatching the feline back into the safety of his patrol car.
Motorists enjoyed what they saw, giving Trooper Hutchinson many “thumbs up” and quick applause as the traffic resumed its flow.
After attempts to find a good home for the kitten through the Monroe County Animal Shelter, Trooper Hutchinson has now adopted the kitten himself. “Lucky” is now recovering nicely, making his home with Trooper Hutchinson in Lawrence County.

It is so nice to see a case of animal abuse turn out so well for both the animal and their special human. This officer deserves every accolade he received for the rescue of this cat. I am sure he is Lucky’s hero and will be forever.
