NC Gov Signs Animal Cruelty Law

An animal cruelty law in North Carolina has been signed by the states governor, Bev Perdue and that makes it the law of the land now for the state.  The law is called Suzie’s Law and was named after a dog that was found beaten and burned in a park.

The female German Shepherd type dog lost her ears because of the flames and still has bare patches on her back where she was severely burned.  But the abuser who did this horrific thing received no jail time.

Naturally, that made more than a few animal lovers very angry and a movement was born which culminated in the signing of Suzie’s Law.  Congratulations to North Carolina for realizing that animals, particularly pets like cats and dogs because they trust the humans they live with, are vulnerable to abuse and need protection.

I don’t know about anyone else out there, but I would like to have some time alone with this beautiful dogs abuser.  The only thing I would need to meet him would be some fire starter, a few matches or a lighter and a whip.  I think he would apologize most sincerely to Suzie after our meeting.  However, he wouldn’t have the chance because he would be going directly to the hospital then on to prison if I ran things.

Alas though, I do not run things so this man will be left free.  However, at least now there is a law  against what this monster did.  It might not prevent the next Suzie, but it at least assures the abuser will be punished.

Watch the video below and meet beautiful Suzie.  It is inspirational how animals, particularly dogs can quickly learn to trust people and have fun again.  Let’s hope that Suzie will now have a long and wonderful life full of nothing but love.
