I believe animals are smart. I have witnessed dogs, cats and birds doing things that prove their intelligence. But even though I believe in my animal friends brain capacity, they never cease to amaze me. I love it every time another member of the animal kingdom shows off just how clever they are.
That is why I was so taken with the video in this post. Some may think this penguin was just lucky. I believe he knew what he was doing. He is swimming for his life from killer whales and sees one way to save himself. Desperation? Maybe, but it seems to me he sets out for his saviors on a purposeful course. He couldn’t swim straight to them because of the Orcas. So he does some fakes that any NFL running back would envy in order to reach his desired goal.
Watch the video and see what you think. For me, I don’t want the whales to go hungry. However, I’m glad they didn’t get this one resourceful bird.
