Protect The Arctic Refuge for Good

April 9, 2010 by: fluffyfeet

Environmentalists and all of us tree hugging hippies have been trying to get the Arctic National Refuge protected for a long time.  It seems we have fought this fight time and time again and in fact, we have.

Now let’s finish it for good.  Let’s end the rush to open this area for oil drilling.  Let’s protect the environment, the animals and their habitat for good.  Let’s stop the rush to ruin what is still left of the wilderness once and for all.  The seals and polar bears, the reindeer and wolves, the foxes and the Grizzly bears, the moose and the whales will be forever grateful, I am sure.

Please sign the petition from the Alaska Wilderness League.  A letter will be sent to your congressional representative letting them know how you feel about this matter.

This is what it says leading up to the petition and I think it is worth repeating here.

After 50 years, it’s time to protect the Arctic Refuge for good
The Arctic is alive. In the summer, the Refuge breathes in life.  Animals from near and far gather here, seeking refuge from a world of encroaching hazards to receive their most sacred needs: sustenance and safe harbor for bearing their young.  In the winter, the Refuge exhales and Arctic life ventures out across the globe – enduring great travails until they return here once more to renew the cycle of life.

On December 6, 2010, the Arctic Refuge will celebrate its 50th anniversary.  The American people have successfully defended this last true wilderness refuge from Big Oil’s attacks for 50 years.  Tell Washington to wake up: the American people have spoken.  Let’s finally protect the Arctic Refuge for good!

Sign the petition and here.
Thank you for all that you do for the environment and for the animals.
