The chihuahua is certainly a well loved breed and because of that they are in demand. We recently told the readers of this blog about operation chihuahua airlift which flew adoptable chihuahuas from California where the rescues are overflowing with the small dogs, to New York where they can’t seem to get enough of the little pooches.
Today I am very happy to let you know that operation chihuahua was a giant success. In fact, New Yorkers wanting to adopt one of the Golden State chihuahuas far out numbered the supply of the tiny dogs. But, not to worry, plans are in the works to airlift more chihuahuas to areas where they can find forever homes.
It looks as if all of the initial 15 chihuahuas who were air lifted to New York will soon be in their own homes where they will become pampered pets. Great job ASPCA in both California and New York!
