West Virginia Pet Shelters

mongoAlmost heaven, West Virginia.  John Denver hit the nail on the head with those words.  The northernmost of the southern states and the southernmost of the northern states, West Virginia truly is something special.

This state is rich in Civil War history with yearly battle re-enactments and also has abundant wildlife, camping, hiking, biking, canoeing, skiing, whitewater thrills, covered bridges, arts, crafts, antiques, high end spas, world class hotels.  There is truly something for everyone in this state.

I’m sure there is a pet in a local animal rescue or shelter to please everyone too.  So all you West Virginians hurry on down to adopt one or more pets.  Your state is 75% covered by forest and these animals would like nothing more than a day with their person in the woods enjoying nature.  If you are more of a stay at home, consider a ferret, indoor cat or an aquarium pet.  Just like your state, the variety of companion animals is vast and you will both benefit from persuing  the human-critter relationship.
