The District of Columbia or Washington D.C. is the capital city of The United States of America.
Commonly referred to as DC, this city absolutely drips history. The White House, The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, The Jefferson Memorial, The Smithsonian, The Vietnam Veterans Memorial and so much more grace this city. Who hasn’t seen the pictures of DC during the blooming of the cherry blossoms each spring or the celebration and fireworks at the Fourth of July? Every day we see images of the city and the historic sites in it on the national news networks then see them again if we watch the network and local news.
Every American knows the history of Washington D.C and if they don’t, they should. If you live in DC and are deficient in your American History, why not adopt a companion animal? That way you can go together to one of the beautiful parks in the area, sit on a bench and read a book to bring yourself up to speed. If you know your history adopt a shelter or rescue animal or animals anyway and go to the park to enjoy the cherry blossoms and the local ambiance. Either way it will be good for you both.
